membership field on registration page

When a new user goes to the link to register, the required membership field doesn’t have anything showing. HELP – I don’t know what to do to fix this? I created a membership level but it won’t show there either. So you can’t complete the registration process.

You have checked the “Allow Free Membership” field and have entered the free membership level ID in the “Free Membership Level ID” field in the settings menu?
