Hi, I wonder if you can help me please?
I have a couple of members whose broadband connections are using IPv6. The server uses a caching system, but I have turned this off for this website and no other caching is being used on the site itself.
Neither of these members are able to login, they are immediately presented with the log out page. I have also deleted the account for one of them asked them to create a fresh account. The same thing happens. They have deleted their cache and cookies for the website too but still presented with the same problem.
Could this be a problem with members having an IPv6 IP address?
Thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Ken
The issue MIGHT be the ISP caching, of which you have no control over. Also, what browser(s) are the affected members using, and are they accepting your eMember login cookies? Usually, we also see this happen, when the members are behind a very tightly controlled firewall; such as a school district, or certain nation states.
Hi wzp,
Thanks for getting back to me. They have been trying Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox. They both use BT (British Telecom) for their ISP so perhaps this might be the issue?

Question… are they the only one having issues? And is BT the common ISP?
Thanks for asking. Yes, they are the only ones having issues and no, BT is not the only ISP, but BT is the only ISP to provide IPv6 and these are the members that are having issues. There are only 3 members in total using BT.
IPv6 shouldn’t be an issue in general. There maybe something specific to this site (a combination of things) that is creating some kind of a conflict with it. Do you have the “Disable Simultaneous Member Login” option enabled in this site? If you do, disable that option. Then do a test to see if the same issue persists.
Thanks admin, I did have this enabled. I’ve now disabled it and will ask the members affected to try logging in again.
Happy New Year!
