I am using WP eStore and WP eMember – and I have a member who successfully paid for an ongoing monthly membership but has no UserName. Therefore, he can’t log in.

    1. How do I assign him a username? This isn’t an option when editing member information.

    2. How do I fix this so it doesn’t happen again?

    Many thanks,

    Beth

This means he/she didn’t complete their registration. If you watch the video here you will understand how the registration is suppose to work:

To fix this go the “Admin Functions” menu item in eMember.

Then in the section called “Generate and Email the Registration Completion Link” type in the member’s id and click the “Generate & Email Link” button.

This should send an email to your member where they will be asked to complete their registration.

Alternatively you can generate the link in the section “Generate a Registration Completion Link” and send it from your own email account.

I am having this same problem when using the subscribe button. The registration completion link goes out with a purchase, but not with a subscription.

How did you create this subscription button? Using WP eStore or using a hosted PayPal subscription button?

WP eStore with Payment Gateway plugin.

Thank you. I am guessing you are using ARB? What shortcode did you use to place this subscription button?

Please run a test transaction with debug option enabled. This post will show you how:

    https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/how-and-when-to-enable-debug-and-what-does-it-do

Then share the content of the following debug files so I can see what exactly happened:

    – ipn_handle_debug.log

    – eStore_post_payment_debug.log

    – subscription_handle_debug.log

Thanks Peter – I reviewed the video and everything seems to be set up correctly. I’ll use the ‘generate registration completion link’ process in the future. I went into the database and assigned him a username.

I do get an error message when I use the little shopping cart icon to insert the shortcodes for the buttons and cart. I’m also running Event Espresso on my site:

Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function ‘add_event_espresso_menus’ not found or invalid function name in /home/camp2909/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 403

I uploaded a screen shot of it here: [http://campbellduke.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/eStore-Event-Espresso-error-message.png[

    Cheers,

    Beth

Thats an issue with that other plugin. Its not loading the WP environment properly inside the TinyMCE script. You can use our shortcode list to find a list of all the shortcodes and then copy paste them:

Thanks ‘admin’ – I’ll use the short codes from now on.

My next issue is probably related to the customer’s failure to complete the registration process – while he’s still on the ‘active’ list for membership, his monthly subscription isn’t clearing through PayPal.

In the future, I’ll definitely use the registration completion links you provided above.

    Many Thanks,

    Beth

“his monthly subscription isn’t clearing through PayPal” – You mean the subscription is not getting charged when it should be? This would mean that you didn’t properly create a subscription button. You most likely created a one off payment button. Please post a link to the page where you have your membership purchase/payment button so I can take a look at it.
