Member cancels recurring membership, THEN wishes to join again

My question is how do I make this happen w/o them creating a new account?

Please go to “WP eMember Settings” -> “Account Upgrade and Renewal Settings” then check the “Allow Expired Account login” checkbox. This will allow your expired/cancelled members be able to log into the system. Don’t worry they won’t be able to view any protected content. When an expired/cancelled member logs into the site they just get a message that tells them to renew their membership.

At this stage when they make a payment for a membership their existing account just gets activated (no need to go through the registration steps).
