Hopefully my last question. Great support by the way!
Our memberships are offered for one year but I would like to offer one or two month extensions for those who contribute. I am willing to do it manually, but am wondering what the best way to do it through this plugin would be?
You can edit the member profile and tweak the “Subscription Start Date” to extend a membership level.
Will that affect recurring payments?
It depends on your setup. In your above post it looked like you wanted to have a 1 year membership (once off payment). Did you mean that this 1 year is actually recurring?
Yes, I would like it to be a recurring product and be able to extend it by a month or two as needed.
The recurring payment is an agreement between you and the customer which needs to be agreed up at the time of purchase. So after the customer makes the payment PayPal won’t let you change any aspect of this recurring payment (example: you can’t increase the recurring amount). To change a recurring payment the buyer needs to cancel that subscription and setup a new one with the modified agreement.
So yes you can easily extend the membership duration of a member by modifying the member’s profile but the payment is separate… it will continue to do what was agreed upon at the time of purchase.
understood. Thanks again!
