SpectatorI am trying to offer clients who had to postpone events due to the virus a 100% discount code.
Have created the code and enabled manual checkout but it seems that anyone can use the free manual checkout option, not just those with the discount code? I have checked ‘Redirect to Manual Checkout For Zero Amount Purchase” but want this to be conditional ie only be able to see and use this option if used with the code.
H anyone come up with a work round to make this possible. I rather suspect a few businesses may be in a similar situation trying to retain customers.
Thanks
Jane

KeymasterIn the “gateway settings” menu, keep the following checkbox unchecked:
Use Manual Payment Option
That way the manual payment option won’t be shown in the cart. However, if that 100% discount is used and someone clicks checkout, the “Redirect to Manual Checkout For Zero Amount Purchase” option will redirect them to the manual checkout.
Also, it is worth checking out the following post which has some useful tips for giving an item for free:

SpectatorThat’s really helpful, and seems to work. Many thanks. However I get the following error message when I try a test form submission:
“Error! City, State, Country data is missing! Cannot track Google Analytics without these data.” I have the eStore Manual Checkout Form Builder add-on.
Just out of interest is there any way to edit the “confirm order” text on the manual checkout page?
Thanks again
Jane

KeymasterIf you have enabled the Google Analytics tracking then ALL transactions will need the full address data (it is a requirement from Google Analytics tracking). So you have a decision to make. You can’t enable Google Analytics then offer checkout that doesn’t collect all the required data. Disable the Analytics tracking or you may have to use one of other methods (non checkout method) to give the free item.
