I generated a manual download link to check that it was working and I have a couple of issues with what happened next.
1. When my fellow tested tried to download the file, he got an error message which said “Requested File could not be found”. Why would this happen / How do I stop it happening?
2. When I tried to generate a new link, it gave me the same URL, – not another unique URL. This means that if I have any disreputable members they can share these links and steal my stuff ! Not good – is it working as I think it should ?

1.) This means it can not find the file did you try pasting the non encrypted link in a browser to see if you get this same message? If you do then you will need to check that your file path is correct. If not please let me know.
2.) Even if the link looks similar it is not the same (try pasting it into a notepad and compare them). The link will expire (whatever amount of time you have specified) after it is generated.
