Hello
One of my client (who use your complete solutions) want to do something and despite my modifications into the settings, i can’t reach my goal.
My client sell a “service” and member can buy with paypal and manual checkout. This product give a new emember role to the user after the user buy the product. This user role is needed to display (only for students) a secret link(a little conditionnal php trick i made) in their account space. Normal users can’t see this link on their account
With paypal no problem , but with manuel checkout and despite the fact i check “Automatically Update Customer & Products Database” and “Send Product Download Links in the Email” the user’s level will not be update to have this special role. However the user can see the payment history into his account setting and receive all informations by email. Only way to give the new emember’s role to customer who paid by manual checkout is to go to order management and change the order to “co paid”. But my client is very busy and want to have minimum stuff to modify. So is there a way i can setup the plugin to update the emember membership level automaticly for manual checkout? Maybe i made a mistake somewhere?
Thank you as always for your great support
May 10, 2014 at 10:54 pm #62859wzpModeratorUmmmm, that’s why it’s called “Manual Checkout.”
The point is that the seller must “verify” that payment was received, before post payment processing can take place. It’s no different than if PayPal returns a “pending payment” notification; nothing will happen until the payment is verified… except “manually.”
So, why is the option for manual checkout being used?
May 11, 2014 at 12:54 am #62860totalwebdesignMemberI understand your point completly but my client ask me for this and i try to find a solution.
This option is used for user to pay by bank check (if they don’t want to pay via paypal)
With paypal, Customer buy a service (personnal trainer), and directly after the payment process, is grant with a new emember membership level. He can now be able to see a link to a questionnaire on his account area (the link and the page containing the questionnaire are protect for this new emember level ). After sending the questionnary, one manager of the team will analyse it, and will grant manually the customer with another wordpress role (as we have a plugin call “customer area” who need a particular wordpress role).
This way there is just “one” manual intervention/step from a manager and my client wants to do the same with bank check.
Actually after the manual checkout, the customer can’t see the link and have access to the questionnary as it’s protect for this emember level. So a manager need to make two manual steps on the back office. For a small amount of customers, it’s not a big deal, but my client has lots of customers who use this solution.
Sorry if i am not clear, i try my best to explain
May 11, 2014 at 4:00 am #62861wzpModeratorSo, what you are asking is if the member can be upgraded, before someone can verify the check is any good :p
Since you seem to be a site developer, maybe you can use this:

May 11, 2014 at 2:58 pm #62863wzpModerator#1 tip for becoming a good developer: Don’t be afraid to try something, to see if it works.
#2 tip for becoming a good developer: Always backup the file(s) you’re going to edit, or else you will be struck by karmageddon.
