Tagged: Manage Content Protection, WP eMember, WP Hide Post
I have been using the plugin “WP Hide Post” to hide pages that I don’t want showing in any of the navigation as I simply want to link to this pages from the body of other pages.
After loading the “WP eMember” plugin and during setup I found that the “Manage Content Protection” would not list any pages.
There is a list of checkboxes created that equals the number of pages, but none of the page data (date, title, author, status) is displayed. After doing some troubleshooting I found that when deactivating the “WP Hide Post” plugin the the page table is displayed correctly. Oddly enough both the comments section and the posts section displays correctly regardless of the status of “WP Hide Post”.
While I am anxious to get WP eMember working I can’t operate the site without the “WP Hide Post” plugin. Any suggestions?
Any/All help would be greatly appreciated.
@gantoine, I use hidden pages too but you don’t need a plugin for this (not saying you can’t use a plugin). WordPress has a nice exclude functionality so whenever you display the pages menu you can specify which pages you want to exclude from the menu (keep them hidden). When you add the “Pages” from the widgets menu you will see wordpress lets you exclude the pages that you don’t want to appear in the menu.
There are a few other plugins that does this exclusion too (e.g WP Page Exclude).
With that said, I read the description of the “WP Hide Post” plugin and it looks like it just doesn’t exclude the post or page it can put another layer of protection too. Please note if wordpress can’t access a post because this plugin is hiding it then the WP eMember won’t be able to access it either.
