Making enough ram available for large file e store purchases

In the information about selling large files with the wp estore it says that i could simply buy enough ram to cover the size of the download,for instance if I have a 5gb file for sale I would need to have 5gb of ram available.

What if for example 2 people attempted to download the same file from my website at the same time, does this mean I would need 10gb of ram available or will the 5gb of ram be shared?

Please post a link to where you saw this stated. Your server only needs enough PHP memory to sufficiently run all of the WordPress software and plugins that you expect to run. 64MB of PHP memory is sufficient for most users. PHP memory is not the same as physical RAM.
