I would like to give my new customers the option to “opt-in” to receive newsletter updates when they signup as a customer. I don’t really want a customer to receive a Subscription confirmation email from Mailchimp when they didn’t even request to subscribe. Is this possible with eStore or eMember (I have both so don’t know which one would have the functionality)?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
It’s got nothing to do with eStore or eMember. It’s the MailChimp policy that every subscriber has to be double opted in before you can send them email. You need to contact MailChimp to implement this.
I have no problem with a double opt in. I’m saying that the first opt in isn’t happening at the moment… I’d like to know if one can add a check-box that is ticked by default when the customer goes through checkout (I assume this would be through eMember) and that can be ‘unticked’ if the customer doesn’t want to subscribe from the start?
I hope this clarifies.
Thanks
I agree that this would be awesome. I use Mailchimp and love it. If you can figure this out please post for others!

Nope, this is not possible.
