Tagged: mailchimp integration
Hi,
I tried searching for this question in the forum and although links showed up in the list, when I clicked them, they went nowhere. So, if this question has been asked and answered, I apologize.
I’ve been using eStore on a client’s website for years without issue. I upgraded to eStore 8.0.3 and now MailChimp no longer sends the “final welcome email” to the buyers (which is did fine before the upgrade).
It does subscribe them to the correct mailing list, but it doesn’t send the email.
On another account, I’ve been able to work around this by setting up an autoresponder/workflow that sends the welcome message. But this won’t work for my client because this product is a consultation and people purchase it multiple times (and need the welcome email sent each time.) With an autoresponder, each email address can only go through any one sequence one time, so even if the address is added (or signs up) again, they don’t start over (it puts them back where they left off).
As a work around, I have the thank you email that estore sends sending them the info they need, but we really need that “final welcome email” to send as well. We find that some people don’t receive the shopping cart thank you email so like that information several different ways (and we have other products that have more elaborate thank you emails that need to send at purchase).
Thanks for any help you can provide.
In the new version of estore we had to upgrade to the new mail-chimp API. Mailchimp removed some of the old variables in their new API. They have removed that welcome email field in the new API.
It is likely they have added a setting for this in the mailchimp account.
You can ask mailchimp support what they recommend using now that they have removed the send welcome email field in their new API.
