I’m getting redirected to the login page every time I try to access a protected page even though I just logged in for the prior page looked at.
[http://dbkdev.com/aauw/members-only] (All the pages under the Members Only area are protected). Is it possible to PM login details?
In the settings:
I don’t have redirection enabled b/c I want people to end up at the page they were attempting to go to prior to logging in.
I’ve got a specific login page created, but I’m only getting the generic login “Please Login to view this Content.(Not a member? Join Today!)”
I’m using eMember, version 7.0.5 & haven’t modified it at all.
What have I missed?
Thanks!
Christy (DBKiltz)
October 19, 2011 at 12:09 am #37698adminKeymasterCan you please create a test member account from your admin dashboard and share the details so I can log in as that user and checkout the behavior?
October 19, 2011 at 7:56 pm #37699DBKiltzMemberNow it’s giving me an error when I try to add a member, so please use this account:

October 20, 2011 at 12:25 am #37700adminKeymaster"Now it's giving me an error when I try to add a member"
– that indicates a problem in the plugin behavior. Please do the following (Just to make sure that the issue is not resulting from a custom modification or unwanted code changes):1. Deactivate and delete the currently installed version of the plugin(s).
2. Download a fresh build of the plugin(s) from here:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/update-request
3. Upload and activate this version of the plugin(s). The specific update instruction for the plugin in question can be accessed from here:

Do you have any caching plugins active?
October 20, 2011 at 5:35 am #37701DBKiltzMemberI don’t have any caching plugins installed yet as they generally really screw with development. I followed your instructions & the problem seems to be resolved. I also needed to change login/password info for the members, so deleted all of them & re-entered them. Now creating a new member also works. FYI, my login changed – just add a 2 on the end. The password is the same.
Thanks for your help !
September 18, 2012 at 5:28 pm #37702FionaMemberI am having the same problem, but I have set a redirection page. Please would you have a look at it for me at [www.brd6220.fionastoreydesign.co.uk]. On logging in all members are automatically redirected to [http://brd6220.fionastoreydesign.co.uk/online-magazine/] and at the moment the only other protected page that is visible is the member profile page. However if you click on the link from the online magazine page you are asked to login again, and if you do you still get redirected back to the online magazine page. I have set up a login with username Test and password Testing.
Many thanks.
September 19, 2012 at 1:19 am #37703adminKeymasterI just tested a login and then clicked on the edit profile link from the online magazine page and I could see everything correctly. So I don’t actually see any issue.
I did notice that you have (maybe via another plugin) an option to disable cookies on your site. Without cookies, the login system won’t work correctly.
September 19, 2012 at 6:11 am #37704FionaMemberI have just tried again and it worked in Firefox but not in IE9. I then established that via the EU Cookie Directive plugin it only works in IE9 if you have agreed to accept cookies on the site. I will add text to make this clear. Many thanks.
August 23, 2015 at 1:30 pm #37705gompertsMemberI have the same issue. I bought the plugin 3 days ago.
The user is asked to login at every page that is protected.
What solves this issue.
Many thanks for the answer.
August 23, 2015 at 5:17 pm #37706wzpModeratorAs in the above situation; are you using any plugins on your server, or any settings/extensions in your browser, that prevent the use of cookies?
August 23, 2015 at 6:10 pm #37707gompertsMemberIn my browser no. On the server I wouldn’t know. I have deactivated all the plugins, but it still has the same behavior.
August 24, 2015 at 12:24 am #37708adminKeymasterThis seems like a caching issue or a PHP session issue on your site. First lets see if it is a caching issue. Ask your hosting provider if they are using any caching on their end. Are you using any caching plugin?
Share the URL of your member login page and a test member login details so I can check the behavior.
August 24, 2015 at 4:17 pm #37709gompertsMemberApparently it was a caching issue.
My hosting provider uses Varnish. After disabling it the plugin worked correctly.
Many thanks
