ParticipantI have a client that when she tries to login to our site nothing happens except the following message appears ‘Logged Out Successfully’. I have tried other logins and they are working fine. So it must be something to do with her specific account. It has been working fine up until the last few weeks. Any thoughts?
This is the error log for this account:
[06/15/2018 3:44 PM] – SUCCESS :Authenticating login request for username: hazels. Request came from IP Address: 174.45.123.197
[06/15/2018 3:44 PM] – SUCCESS :Authentication completed for username: hazels. IP Address: 174.45.123.197
[06/15/2018 3:44 PM] – SUCCESS :Redirecting member to the after login redirection page.
[06/15/2018 3:44 PM] – SUCCESS :User Exists in WP but not logged in.
[06/15/2018 3:44 PM] – SUCCESS :Logging out of emember because wp cookie for this user expired

Or it may be her particular browser settings, on that particular computer.
- Have her clear all browser cookies, caches, etc.
- Have her try a different computer.
- Temporarily change her password, do a test on YOUR computer, then reset her password.

ParticipantI have reset her password and tried it on my computer. I am able to login to my accounts from my computer and then her account with the same computer and web browser and it doesn’t work.

ModeratorIs that error log from HER login? Is she rejecting your cookies?

ParticipantThat was my attempt at logging into her account from my computer. Which was the same computer/browser that I successfully logged into my own accounts.

KeymasterThe following is the main issue. Looks like the plugin is failing to log the user into her WP User account.
[06/15/2018 3:44 PM] – SUCCESS :User Exists in WP but not logged in.
[06/15/2018 3:44 PM] – SUCCESS :Logging out of emember because wp cookie for this user expired
Since you are using WP user integration, do you have all the following checkbox checked?
Automatically log into WordPress
Automatically log into eMember
Edit that user’s record by going to the WP users menu and set a test password (something simple). Then edit the emember record for the user and use that same password. Then do a login test for this user. Does it work?
If you create a new member record now and test the login, does it work?

ParticipantThanks Admin. I do have both the checkboxes ticked to automatically log into WordPress and eMember.
I then did as you suggested and changed her password in WP Users menu and again to the same password for eMember. I then tried to log in and I got the same message ‘Logged out successfully.
I also just created another membership account and tried logging in and that login was successful. So it seems to be something specific with her member account.
Any other thoughts??

KeymasterI can’t think of anything else. Delete that account and then recreate it using the same details.

ParticipantI have a community forum plugin on my site that takes the user information from the WP Users. If I delete the eMember account will that affect anything else, in particular the WP User information/account??

ModeratorWhich forum plugin are you using???

KeymasterThe issue is likely with that other WP user profile (it is most likely stuck and the password update isn’t happening there). There is no reason for the standard emember’s login to not work (otherwise all the other emember profiles wouldn’t work).
So deleting that profile completely then recreating it is a good idea. Alternatively, you can keep that profile but change the email address of it to some other address (this will free up that email address). Then create a new account for that user and tell him to use that profile to see how that works.

ParticipantI actually have a community forum plugin on my site. This particular client is part of that and has a lot of information stored on her account. I’m concerned that deleting her WP User account will create a conflict with the forum plugin. Is there another option to ‘reset’ her account that might work?
- Have her clear all browser cookies, caches, etc.
