Hey Amin,
Do you know of any way to lock down the RSS feed when using wpmember? At least hide the membership posts/categories.
Thanks!
Frank
Ok, looks like i was able to solve the problem with the plugin called: simply exclude.
Thanks!
Frank
When you are using the WP eMember plugin, any post that is protected in eMember will also be protected in the RSS feed.
Actually, I just started using eMember this week and it displays all my protected media files in the RSS feed.
http://lessons.bobreynoldsmusic.com/
http://lessons.bobreynoldsmusic.com/feed/ – there you’ll see all my “protected” videos free for all the world to see.
There must be a way to fix this? Sort of defeats the whole purpose of using the plugin, otherwise.
What version of the eMember plugin are you using? Have your protected these posts under general protection?
Latest version. v5.9.3
No, I have not, because the way I’m running my site, each post has to be viewable to all because I need people to see the “teaser” content (explanation of the lesson video) at the top of each post. And then, to be able to buy the lesson individually.
OR, they can stream the videos if they are logged in as members.
If I protect the post from all eyes this won’t work.
However, I experimented with it yesterday (protecting things in general protection) and all the media STILL showed up in the RSS feed.
I have sent you an email to get site access so I can check it out.
