How can I have all the products in a category listed alphabetically? We will add new products over time and they will need to be inserted alphabetically also. Thank you!
Hi, I have talked to Amin the developer about this and he will look into adding this.
Is there any way in the meantime to manually assign id numbers as I create products to ensure gaps for future items to be inserted alphabetically? i.e. Apple ID#1, Banana ID#5, which gives four slots open for other A products?
Nope. You don’t want to do this anyway as you don’t know how many “A” products you are going to have. Keep adding the products now without worrying about the alphabetical order as I will add a shortcode that will allow you to display products in an alphabetical order (the order you use to enter them in the admin side doesn’t matter).
Awesome, thank you so much!
Added this option. Now you can display products from a particular category in different orders. Check the extra shortcodes list to find more details on this:
Make sure to upgrade your extra shortcodes plugin to the new version so you get this feature.
Awesome!!! Thank you so much for your quick work on this!
I don’t seem to figure out how to list the products in alphabetical order. I’ve downloaded the extra short code plugin but I can’t find any way to list in alphabetical order. Could someone please help me?
Hi,
See the extra shortcodes pdf document which will show you the shortcode you can use:

eg,
[wp_eStore_category_products_fancy id=1 style=3 order=1]
You can modify “order=1” parameter to customize the display order. You can use one of the following values for the “order” parameter: 1: Sort by product ID in ascending order 2: Sort by product ID in descending order 3: Sort by product name (a-z) 4: Sort by product name (z-a)
