Links not popping up on pages that are already a popup

We are using the Education/Eduma theme and we are wanting to add your shortcodes for videos and pdfs on the Lesson pages. e.g. [https://educationwp.thimpress.com/courses/node/lessons/examples/]

But it seems because of the Lesson pages actually behaving like a pop up, your shortcode does not work as a pop up and it opens the links in a new window. Is there anything we can change on the code to make it work as a popup? Note that I have also contacted the Theme developers but wanted to check with you guys too.

Also the plugin is adding this spinner that never goes away [https://www.dropbox.com/s/obunqprv8yce27h/Spinner%20Issue.png?dl=0]

Any idea how we can get that not to appear?

Looks like you have a JavaScript error on that page. A JavaScript error coming from another plugin will prevent our plugin’s JavaScript from executing and the plugin will behave abnormally. So first fix the JavaScript errors please.

Thanks! I have checked and I am not seeing any javascript issues but I know that the content it sitting on an iframe. Could that be the issue?
