link generator and using Facebook – affiliate link gets stripped

When creating affiliate links and pasting them in Facebook, it pulls the image just fine and the text but strips the affiliate suffix.

Can you tell me how to effectively use WP affiliate links in Facebook without having to use the url in the post.

I also tried to shorten the link but still strips the Affiliate ID

It has to do with the way Facebook works. They are ignoring URL query strings. Pinterest also does this; and there is currently nothing you can do, since the ignoring of URL query strings is something that is their perogative.

You can potentially tell your affiliates to shorten their affiliate links and use it on facebook
