How do I limit an item to only one per customer?
January 11, 2010 at 10:46 pm #17169RobertBasilMemberP.S. This is not a downloadable item, we will be shipping this item to the customer. We just don’t want customers to be able to order more than one of this product.
January 11, 2010 at 11:10 pm #17170RobertBasilMemberAlso, I know about this hack:
But this would remove the quantity option for all products. We only want to limit this one product to one per customer.
Thanks again.
January 12, 2010 at 10:31 pm #17171IvyMemberThe WP eStore plugin can not limit the quantity of a single item. One solution to this maybe to have a variation drop down menu with the quantity of (1) and put Limit 1 per customer in the product display and information.

August 22, 2011 at 4:48 am #17172adminKeymasterWe recently added a feature to accommodate this option in the plugin. You can now set a per customer item quantity limit from the following area:
Add/Edit Products -> Inventory Control -> Quantity Limit Per Customer
September 4, 2013 at 7:52 pm #17173bgarrityMemberIs there any way of setting coupon limit by customer? We want them to be able to select any product and use the coupon once. This coupon would be available to, for example, all new members at a certain level.
September 5, 2013 at 2:43 am #17174adminKeymasterDid you check the dynamic coupon discount addon?

September 5, 2013 at 6:27 pm #17175bgarrityMemberFrom that documentation …
“A dynamically generated coupon code can be automatically sent to the customer via email
immediately after their purchase.”
We are looking to have a coupon for one-time use by customers for any product – not as an after-purchase option, but as an available option at certain times – after they register at a certain level of membership for example.
September 6, 2013 at 5:30 am #17176adminKeymasterI see what you mean. We don’t have an option for that unfortunately. You can create a discount coupon that can be used only once but it won’t work the scenario you explained above.
September 8, 2013 at 6:47 pm #17177bgarrityMemberSo .. a suggestion .. your coupon system would be much more powerful if you added the ability to have it apply to members as well as products. Ditto for the Redemption Limit. I know these are not trivial changes, but for eMember users, IMHO, member-specific or member-level-specific incentives are going to be a frequent requirement.
In the meantime, would it be possible to give us a way of triggering the dynamically generated coupon code other than by a prior purchase e.g. immediately upon subscribing at a given membership level in eMember, and/or an admin manual process?

September 16, 2013 at 1:04 am #17179adminKeymasterI have been thinking of a good way to incorporate this in an addon. A manual process is kind of there already. Every time a member signs up, you can create a “one time use” coupon manually and send it to that user.
What I want to do is create an addon that will dynamically create a “one time use coupon” when a member registers and gives it to that user.
