Hi,
I have a question about the Lightbox Ultimate plugin. I have been building my business using your plugins, and have been very pleased so far!
As of now, I am using eStore to sell individual downloads (PDF’s), eMember to protect certain posts, then allow paid members access those posts where they can download the content with the “Download” feature from eStore. (also using the Affiliate plugin too)
I purchased Lightbox Ultimate with the intention of delivering the PDF’s with it (I like the presentation better for delivery of the PDF than the download function in eStore) I know that the plugin will pull videos from a secured s3 account, but can not figure out how to get it to pull PDF’s
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
December 13, 2011 at 4:43 am #39573wpCommerceModeratorHi, currently we don’t have that option but we are working on a shortcode for s3 protected pdf file. I will get back to you once we have implemented it.

December 16, 2011 at 12:13 pm #39575wpCommerceModeratorHi, we have added that feature. Please do the following:
1. Deactivate and delete the currently installed version of the plugin(s).
2. Download a fresh build of the plugin(s) from here:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/update-request
3. Upload and activate this version of the plugin(s).
Shortcodes for PDF and necessary instructions can be found here (Under Amazon S3 Private PDF File Display with Lightbox section) –

When I use the download short code option (like below) it just shows the file on top of the existing browser page:
[wp_lightbox_secure_s3_file_download name="test.pdf" bucket="mybucket" source="/pdf-file-icon.png"]
Thanks
July 6, 2012 at 1:58 pm #39577wpCommerceModeratorHi, It depends on the browser. If you set the browser option to download it then the file will be downloaded once you click it. Otherwise, it will be displayed in the browser window just like a webpage.

Yes I was aware we are fighting the browser’s behaviour here. In Firefox / Safari on my test system it automatically opens the file and does not provide this option. So if anything the user’s experience will be inconsistent for the <sstrong>download feature.
I know there are php ways of forcing a download such as the link example below:(http://webdesign.about.com/od/php/ht/force_download.htm).
I was hoping there was a way to use the s3 download feature to do the same thing (force a download for the download feature). Please kindly supply any additional comments you may have on this so I can decide how best to proceed.
