I have tried changing player dimensions as well as changing themes and layouts.
The lightbox player will not display correctly in full screen. Thank you for some
help with this,
richard

February 11, 2014 at 4:24 pm #60786wzpModeratorWhen I take a ruler and measure the video, both in the regular and full screen mode; I get the same aspect ratio for the video image. What exactly do you mean by “not display correctly?”
Nice ditty, BTW.
February 11, 2014 at 4:34 pm #60787sophie1MemberBecause I thought it would be awhile b4 you could answer, I deactivated mu latest Lightbox, and installed an old version (1.7) which I use on another site (singathome.org).
It displays correctly, as you can see, with the old plugin. I apologize for my impatience!
I will now uninstall the old plug and reinstall the new one. Please take a look at it when you have a moment. Also, I see that there is no lightbox popup effect, rather, the player screen just appears. Is there something I can do to fix that? thanks again.
February 11, 2014 at 5:00 pm #60788wzpModeratorWhat shortcodes are you using?

February 11, 2014 at 6:47 pm #60790wzpModeratorWhat plugin version are you using? If it’s less than 2.0.9, please try an updated copy:

February 11, 2014 at 6:56 pm #60791sophie1MemberI’m using 2.0.9. Could I have wrong settings in the plug, or could there be
theme issues, or(using twentythirteeen) or OS?(using windows .
thanks
February 11, 2014 at 9:14 pm #60792sophie1MemberHmmmm…only other thing I can think of is how I make the video. I use thelatest version of cyberlink Powerdirectsor. I take the mp4 files and put them thru Handbrake to prepare them for the internet. I’ve tried 4:3 and 16:9 settings and nothing is making any difference. Cannot think of anything else.
February 11, 2014 at 11:25 pm #60793wpCommerceModerator@sophie1, what is the aspect ratio of your video? Can you take a screenshot of the video in fullscreen so I can clearly see the issue?
You seem to be using a flowplayer plugin. Please deactivate it for now so it doesn’t conflict with Lightbox Ultimate script.

Aspect is 512h 288w a 16:9 ratio.
Regarding other plugins, I have tried reinstalling WP and then just loading Lightbox,
but still had the problem. Ah well. Thanks for your time, I appreciate it.
February 12, 2014 at 2:48 am #60795wpCommerceModeratorThanks. So the issue is that the video is not taking up the whole screen? I just checked the metadata of your video. Looks like it was produced with 640×480 which is 4:3.
February 12, 2014 at 4:18 am #60796wzpModerator@wpCommerce — I think she wants to display it in 16:9, irregardless of screen mode.
February 12, 2014 at 5:13 am #60797sophie1MemberThank you again. I’ll go ahead and make a video copy in 16:9. Almost positive(hope I’m wrong) that I checked that before. let’s see…
February 12, 2014 at 7:17 pm #60798sophie1MemberI went back and looked at the original video clips used in this project. They are all
720×480. I have since been trying a zillion different ways of setting the aspect ratio
of the final video, which I process through Handbrake for internet optimization, and then load to amazon s3. Handbrake also has a ton of variables for doing this.
I haven’t gotten it right yet, but I do have the strange fallback of reloading an older version of Lightbox which for some reason correctly displays the aspect ratio in fullscreen. Thank you for your efforts in trying to solve this. I need to move on for now and return to it when I can. Have a good day!
February 13, 2014 at 2:08 am #60799wpCommerceModeratorHi, I did the following to encode your video in Handbrake:
Output Settings
a) MP4
b) “Web Optimized” option checked
Picture
a) Width: 640
b) Height: 368
c) “Keep Aspect Ratio” option checked
d) Anamorphic: none
e) Modulus: 16
Please note that the “Keep Aspect Ratio” option will show up once when you select “Anamorphic” to “none” (By default it’s set to “loose” which doesn’t allow you to change anything).
It will not be perfect but very close.
