Using buy button, have found when paypal has opened final payment page, the item name is shown, but underneath there is another line ie eg Item Number 6, which is not shown on the initial Paypal openng page (it appears picked up from the management page), and is very distracting for the customer, as this can be a high number, and perhaps give impression that they have bought lots of things. Can this second line be suppressed? Thanks.
It is the item ID which is how you uniquely identify an item in your store. It is clearly labeled so there is no chance of mistake. There is another field called “Quantity” which is the number of items:
WordPress eStore Plugin $49.95
Item number: 65
Item price: $49.95
Quantity: 1
With the greatest of respect, I know where and why the ID number is used. What I asked was whether the item number line be suppressed on the paypal checkout ticket. There are obviously limitations on what a coder can do, but if the customer, ie me, does not want something on the Paypal form, then surely that is their prerogative? Please note I am only referring to what appears on the paypal item description as you check out, not the shopping cart pre-paypal. Thanks.
I haven’t seen PayPal provide a variable that can suppress the item ID on their checkout page. You can ask PayPal to see if an option exists. If PayPal provides an option to hide the item id then it can be accommodated.
Thanks very much for the reply. It is not obvious from other posts that this is actually something to do with Paypal itself. I will follow it up, and again, thanks.
