Tagged: shift time issue, time difference issue
I have 2 membership levels:
Trial
Full
The trial is 7 days for $1 then they are charged a flat one-time fee of $27
AND
they are auto-upgraded to level “Full”.
It only works at the moment if the payment is set 1 day before the upgrade.
This is not ideal however since the customer will see the final payment, yet not have access until the next day.
Can you please advise how to correct the time difference issue?
Many thanks
Hi, The PayPal IPN notification time cannot be configured unfortunately (PayPal doesn’t allow you to do that). Usually when offering a trial, people don’t sign the members to a different level. You simply give them access to the “Full” level (they get to see everything at a cheaper price for a few days).
Anyway, The best way to handle your scenario is the following:
If your trial period is set to “7” days and you want the members to be auto upgraded to a different level after that, set the “Auto Upgrade” days value to “6”. One day of buffer works out good because the user will always get the access to the new level just before the recurring payment is charged.
