Tagged: membership levels
Here’s what I’d like to do and if you could tell me if it’s possible that would be great.
I am forcing people to register before they can purchase the a downloadable product. When they register I have them at a free membership level. So as that free member they can purchase the software. Is it possible to setup another membership level after they purchase a downloadable product and then they would have access to another page?
I want them logged in to buy. I don’t want them to access certain pages until they buy. That possible?
Hi,
Yes it is certainly possible.
eMember handles multiple membership levels and integrates directly with eStore via a field called “Reference Text” which can be found in each of your product’s configuration pages in eStore.
Protecting pages for certain membership levels can be done via a series of shortcodes.
I strongly encourage you go through some of the documentation so that you get more comfortable with the functionality and various shortcodes offered by eMember.
For instance here’s a page describing all of the different ways you can protect a page or certain contents of a page. (For instance in the page below you will also find some of the tricks you can use to allow content for certain membership levels)

That’s exactly what I was looking for. So, just to confirm. I have a membership level setup and the ID is 3. In my product I have set the number 3 in the Reference Text and saved it. So, when a member buys that product, their membership level will be set to the level ID 3? Just want to confirm that’s the way it works.
Starting to really love this plugin…
Hi,
Yes that’s right – if a person purchases a product which is linked to a membership level via the reference text field they will be added to that particular membership level.
