Hello,
I have all 3 of your plugins. I’ve never used the membership plugin. Here’s what I’d like to do:
1) If/when someone purchases my product, I’d like to have the download links available on a protected page. So, essentially, the sales to download process would look like this:
a) They buy through paypal
b) They receive either a PDF stating to join/signup or are redirected to the join/signup page
c) They register and are then able to access the download links
d) There won’t be any free, bronze, silver, gold etc. membership levels per se, just simply “thanks for buying, please sign up to login and access the download page” kind of thing.
Is this possible?
By the way, I’m not using your shopping cart plugin for the purchase however, they will be buying through paypal.
So, really, I just want to be able to have links available but have them on a page that is protected and requires registration for me to MANUALLY approve.
2) With the emember plugin, can I add a custom field so when they register they must provide:
– Name
– Email (maybe I ask them to register with their paypal email??)
– Transaction ID <— can I add this to the sign up field?
3) I have 2 products, one product has its own set of download links the other product will have its own set and future products will have theirs. Can I have separate registration pages depending on which product they purchased?
Many thanks
Scott

By default, if you hook up a PayPal payment button with eMember then when someone makes a payment with that button the customer will receive an email with a unique link to complete the registration and become a member. This post explains how to do that:
You still need to create a membership level (every member must belong to a membership level). This is how the plugin knows who can access which content. In your case you can create two membership levels since you have two products.
You can add custom field to the registration page and collect the transaction ID but I am not sure why you want to do that when the plugin is there to automate task. It will only let someone become a member if they have made a purchase with the PayPal button.
You don’t need separate registration page. You will need two paypal buttons for your two products. When a customer makes a payment the plugin will know which one it is and it will let them signup to the correct membership level which gives them access to the corresponding product.
I think you are unnecessarily complicating your scenario. All you are really trying to do is give someone access to a product after they become a member. I think you might even be better off to use Scenario 3 explained on this page:

Please go through the video tutorials here and the other documentation material and you will have more knowledge about the tool and will help you design what you are after:
