I have a few questions about the functionality that I can’t find answers to anywhere else.

I am building a member site that hosts music and videos for workout, I have the an outside (not paypal) merchant and I don’t want to change. now the part I am having trouble with is I want to build the new member site completely in wordpress, however I have my members in another system, can I automatically, or manually if need be, import my members from the current system into this.

    Also

When a member joins he only gets access to the current music and videos for that month and beyond… so say you join this month you get june and the future, but if I had joined three months ago I get march and into the future, would this all… basically I want to know if the membership levels can be used to protect content based on when you signed up… make every member the same level but only be able to access content from their signup date and beyond? if this is possible then this is most certainly the plugin for me.

“make every member the same level but only be able to access content from their signup date and beyond?” – Nope, the WP eMember won’t be able to do that.

is there a possible work around, by making user levels having something to do with the time you joined? think that will work? I basically need to lock people out of past content

eMember works a little bit differently than the way you are thinking which is why it’s not possible. eMember’s content restriction works based on membership level. The only way you can get similar result is if you create a new membership level every month when you create new content. When new members sign up they can only signup to the newest membership level and hence only have access to the newest content. This method can be very messy as over time you will end up with lots of membership levels and there is manual intervention needed every month to set all these stuff up (not ideal and I wouldn’t recommend it).

hmm… damn… any idea if there is any plugins that functions like this? or would it be possible that it would be added into it. I use the eshop and affiliate system, however I’m building this site for other people, so I was hoping the emember would work like this.

thanks and I may still end up using it… unless you can think of something that works in this way
