I have a few products that I need the purchaser to complete a form to provide me with information once they make their purchase. Each of these products has a different form to be completed. I was hoping that once they clicked the “add to cart” button and they were ready to check out, it would take them to PayPal and once they paid, they would be taken to my “Thank you, please complete this form” page.
Is there a way to do this rather than just use the same “Thank you” page for everything?
Thank you!
Julie

Here are the steps:
1) Edit the product in question:
2) Go to the “Buy Now, Subscription or Donation Type Button Specific Settings” section
3) Enter the thank you page URL in the “Return URL” field.
Note: To redirect to different thank you pages you would need to use “Buy Now”, or “Subscription” type Buttons. Here is the reason:
“Add to Cart” type buttons allow the user to checkout multiple items in one go. So if a user purchases 3 items for example in one checkout each pointing to 3 different URLs then the cart will be confused as to where to send the customer after the purchase. Picture yourself checking out 3 items at a time that has 3 different “Thank You” pages specified. Which page would you get redirected to?
If you want to use “Add to Cart Buttons” then maybe what you can do is place links to each form on the thank you page so they can access the ones they need to. You can also place this information in the email that is sent to them.

April 30, 2012 at 8:29 pm #44234KatFultonMemberHey there! I have credit card processing + Paypal. So, from reading this post above, I’m assuming that there is no way to have different Thank You URLs set per product if I’d also like to give the CC vs PP option to my customers, correct?
I’m only assuming because I think that you must have a shopping cart and “Add to cart” button if you want to offer both credit card and paypal payment options.
I’d like to (1) Offer both options to my customers: CC + PP and (2) Set up different WLM member registration Thank You pages per product.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you so much! ~ Kat

May 1, 2012 at 11:32 pm #44237adminKeymasterOkay.. what I can do is add an option so when someone checks out via the shopping cart and has one item in the cart it will redirect to the specific “Thank You” page for that product (if it has one specified). Now, this won’t work if there are multiple items in the cart though (the reason has been explained above by Ivy). With that help?
May 2, 2012 at 11:10 pm #44238adminKeymasterI have put it down on my to do list. I will update you when I add this to the plugin.
May 3, 2012 at 8:17 pm #44239KatFultonMemberWould it be a hundred times easier if I just used Paypal premium? If so, then I may just do that instead…. Would that make everything way smoother regarding shopping cart + CCs + Thank You URLs?
May 4, 2012 at 2:37 am #44240adminKeymasterI have added this feature in the plugin. Now, when your customer checks out from the shopping cart, it will redirect to the product specific “Thank You” page GIVEN there is only one item in the cart and you have specified a product specific return URL for the product being checked out. I haven’t released this new version of the plugin yet but I have sent you a private email with a new build of the plugin so you can check it out.
