I enabled the debug because people were not receiving the download link on the thank you page and was not receiving a download link in the email?
The debug log stated:
[07/18/2010 8:17 PM] – FAILURE :IPN product validation failed.
[07/18/2010 8:17 PM] – SUCCESS :Paypal class finished.
How do I fix this problem.

September 10, 2010 at 2:31 am #22552Sarah1111MemberHi I am having a similar problem. I have a “buy now” type button and have run a test transaction with the debug feature turned on. The settings include a redirect to a thank you page, which includes the short code for instantly downloading the digital product (and the box is checked in the eStore settings to allow this feature). After the transaction I was redirected to the Thank You page but there was no download link. I did receive an email explaining that the download link will be mailed when the “funds clear”, but the ipn_handle document showed:

I have made sure that the “Auto Redirect” option is not checked in my PayPal profile. Is there some other PayPal setting that might be interrupting the transfer of information to the Thank You page? Thanks very much!

eStore should have sent you an email explaining this and that email should have had a link to this page:
Please go through that list and try to fix the pending payment issue then the email will get sent out with the download links.
September 12, 2010 at 4:34 am #22554Sarah1111MemberThanks very much! Changing my PayPal settings to these conditions has helped the situation, but unfortunately there is still one more problem. After making the suggested changes, the transaction went through and I was redirected to the Thank You page, but the instant download link did not appear. I did receive the payment notification email in my seller account, and the purchase email in my customer account. The purchase email did included a disguised link…. but after clicking the link I received a message explaining that “the file could not be located”.
I checked to make sure that I had entered the correct URL for the location of my ebook on my server in the eStore settings, and that my ebook was in fact located at the specified location. I had to upload the file via FTP to a unique folder in wp-contents because it is 12MB and the WordPress php.ini file restricts uploads to 10MB (I tried changing the value to 20MB but WordPress still wouldn’t allow me to upload the file using the browser or Flash tools). What can I do to solve this problem?? Thanks very much!

Do you have “Auto Redirect” turned on in your PayPal profile?

September 19, 2010 at 10:38 pm #22556Sarah1111MemberHi, I am STILL having problems with the eStore plugin. After I make a transaction I receive a product download email but when I click the file links I keep getting the message “file could not be found”. The files are in my Media library, and I even re-uploaded them via FTP. Because my original PDF file was too large for the plugin, I reformated it so that it is now two separate PDF files (one is 3.8MB and the other is 4.3MB). I contacted my host (BlueHost) to make sure that it wasn’t the server creating problems with the files. My php.ini file and my .htaccess file have been modified to allow larger file uploads, and a longer file execution time. I don’t know what else to do to get this plugin to work for me. I would greatly appreciate further help.

January 28, 2011 at 6:45 pm #22558danmanstanMemberI am getting the same error. I need some suggestions.
I am using the Sandbox to process payments. I get the following error then I Accept the Payment in Sandbox, it gives me the greenlight and sends the payment and the email. When I click on the Return to Merchant button. There is no link on my thank you page. First it looks like the IPN Product is not validated and then it looks like it is.
Can you help me figure what I am missing? I am pretty sure this an IPN Issue because the tests sent from the Paypal IPN Simulator do not post to my log file.
Is this an IPN issue, a PDT issue, Paypal…?

I have enable PDT and copied the Tag number

So you need to contact PayPal and ask them why isn’t the fund getting cleared immediately after a payment. This post should have some clues for you:

Your funds are not getting cleared immediately. The thank you page works via PDT and if the funds doesn’t get cleared immediately the PDT doesn’t get the notification and it won’t show the download links. Only IPN gets another notification when the funds do get cleared. The plugin will process this payment notification and send the links via email.
