Great plugin! My client’s site was getting hit by lots of bots, and eMember’s IP Blacklist feature did a great job in blocking them.
It seems as though there is a maximum number of IP addresses eMember can add to it’s Blacklist. Is there any way to expand it? What do you recommend for a client who has maxxed out the eMember’s capacity for adding new Blacklisted IPs?
Do you have any idea of the number of IP he blacklisted? The IP are stored in MySQL; which does have table limits.
If your site is being targeted by bots then using that default black-list option is not a good idea. That blacklist option is really for humans members who you want to ban (it’s purpose is not to block the bots).
If a site is being targeted by bots, then the following captcha option should be used to block those in the first place:
Are you using that captcha option?
