Interogating WP eMember programmatically

Hi, I am writing a plugin for my website that uses WP eMember. I would like to programmatically check the users subscription level and subscription expiry date to enable or disable certain functions in my program depending on this information.

Do you have a document which will tell me how to access this information, or which fields in your plugin database tables to interrogate to get this information?
