I really really hate myself for for as it must surely be my inexperience with these plug-ins. But some how i don’t think so.
I have tried three plug-ins eMember, eStore, and eAffiliate and i am sorry to say that the upgrades will not install.
They all go through the motion and then says Plug-in failed to install.. In the case of eMemeber it says folder or file already exists even though there is no plug in on that particular site.
Can anyone please assist in my dilemma. It is pretty urgent that i get my commission sales correct at least. eMember i was just going to set it up on a new web site.
Would having the plug-in Member Champ be the problem on one of the sites?
Thanks in appreciation.
March 14, 2011 at 8:34 pm #30145wzpModeratorWhat EXACTLY are the error messages for each plugin you’ve tried to install?
March 15, 2011 at 1:29 am #30146amin007ParticipantYou mention the word upgrade which means you had previous installs of these plugins.
Did you completely delete those previous versions of the plugin before trying to upload the new one?
April 10, 2015 at 3:09 pm #30147rakelMemberHello,
I’m not able to install the plugin. It says:
Could not create directory./home4/.…
Plugin install failed.
What can I do to move on with this?
Thank you
Rakel
April 10, 2015 at 4:11 pm #30148wzpModeratorI’m not able to install the plugin. It says:
Could not create directory./home4/.…
Plugin install failed.
Because you redacted the error message, we have no way of knowing what plugin you are having trouble with. Also, how did you install the plugin?
April 10, 2015 at 7:52 pm #30149rakelMemberIs the wp-affiliate-platform plugin. I tried to install it uploading the zip file as I do with all the plugins.
Thank you for any advice on this.

April 11, 2015 at 1:51 am #30150adminKeymasterLooks like a folder permission issue. I will take a look on your site. I have sent you an email for it.
April 27, 2015 at 4:50 am #30151ScootMemberHey Guys, trying to install eMember plugin through uploading zip file, it uploads fine, but then when I go to activate/deactivate or delete it, I get redirected to the sites home page – thanks for your help in advance!
April 27, 2015 at 11:41 pm #30152adminKeymasterLooks like you have another plugin which is doing this redirection. Please do the following test:

April 28, 2015 at 12:13 am #30153ScootMemberThanks for your help, yes it was the wordpress firewall plugin that was causing the conflict – that plugin hasn’t been updated in 4yrs!! – the site owner will be very happy.
May 8, 2015 at 9:04 am #30154Kristoffer ValdezMemberhello. I have same experience. I installed successfully the eMember plug in. But when I will activate it, a message pops out! It says:
“Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.”
I try to go back to my dashboard to remove and reactivate it but I can’t enter anymore… thank you for your help.
May 8, 2015 at 3:00 pm #30155wzpModeratorFirstly, the error itself is something you need to take up with your hosting provider. As for not having access to your admin dashboard, so that you can regain control, please try this:
May 9, 2015 at 7:01 am #30156Kristoffer ValdezMemberThanks for the help sir. I now have an access to my admin dashboard.
Can I share here the story sir?
Actually, before I Install the wp eMember plug in, optimize press and optimize member plug in is activated. But before I activate the wp eMember plug in, I deactivate first the optimize member plug in. But not the optimize press plug in. Is this two plug in, (optimize press and wp eMember) are conflicting with each other sir?
Because I think the only reason why it crashed yesterday is because all the pages I created via optimize press plug in is protected by membership. So if all these pages I created will not be protected by membership. I think they (optimize press plug in and wp eMember plug) can work together…
Thanks for your expert advice sir.. It will be a much help for me…
May 9, 2015 at 11:31 pm #30157adminKeymasterThere should be no conflict between those two plugins. I know a few users uses those plugins together.
May 10, 2015 at 12:45 am #30158Kristoffer ValdezMemberWOW! THat’s a good news sir if that’s the case, I have an idea now why it crashed.. thank you so much. I’ll get back here after trying to edit that thing… thanks
