I think this software is great first of all.

    Issue:

My client takes photos, downloads them from camera to mac laptop.

My client then makes sure within the mac that the images are correctly orientated.

My client then logs into the wordpress website and goes to the paid version of photo seller 1.4.4 and creates and adds to the gallery.

All images are orientated correctly as follows:

Initial upload to gallery page “HomePhoto Gallery (so the preview thumbnails are ok)

All Thumbnails in the “HomePhoto GalleryProtected (seem to be fine as well)

Finally if you click on a particular protected image example:

The images are always orientated sideways no matter what you do. This happens ONLY when uploading images from a mac computer as stated above, this issue does NOT happen when using a windows based computer, ONLY on a MAC.

Lastly it would not be that big of a deal but the protected image – there is no place to edit the orientation of that specific image. I can of course go to the media galley and fix any images that are sideways – but the image in the protected wp photo seller database or storage location is NOT editable.

I have already explained to my client the work around is to use a windows computer, but can you address or provide a tool to fix images that are within the protected section of the database?

I have made a clear statement of the issue I hope I do not get any generic answer, if there’s no fix then so be it, but please let me know.

My client and I really like this software I hope this can be addressed asap.

    Specs

    WordPress 3.7.1.

    Optimal Theme 1.3

    WP Photo Seller 1.4.4

    No conflicting Widgets

Your urgent attention would be appreciated

    Thanks

The images being sideways when uploaded from a Mac is not an issue with this plugin actually. Basically, the metadata of those images are not getting saved correctly on the Mac. You would see this same issue (when it happens) without this plugin. The general fix for this is to rotate those images and save it again correctly in JPG format then upload it.

You should be able to edit any photo seller gallery image and rotate it from the admin dashboard. Have you done the following?

    1) Edit the gallery in question

    2) Edit an image from that gallery

    3) It will show you the image edit screen, there is a button called “Edit Image” just below the image preview… click that.

    4) Rotate the image however you want then save it.

The above doesn’t work for your install?

Yes I have tried and though it shows the images change on the edit screen then I hit save then update post I go back to the image gallery and there still sideways.

Lastly I want to make sure you READ my post it was very clear what the issue is, one specific point I made was your program stores the initial image in the media gallery then links or stores an additional copy in the store page which is the one that’s watermarked.

No matter what I do I can not correct the sideways image, your edit function DOES NOT work.

Hi, We have added a new feature in our plugin that will correct this image orientation issue on Mac. I have sent you an updated version for testing via email. After the update, go to the gallery menu and check the “Fix Image Orientation During Upload” field which should fix it.
