To send traffic to a page not in the domain which the affiliate software installed can I put a 1 pixel iframe into the page instead of doing a redirect. Then send them to the main site to make the purchase.
September 18, 2010 at 1:17 am #24426amin007ParticipantCan you please elaborate the scenario so I understand what you are trying to achieve?
September 18, 2010 at 11:25 am #24427pwidderMemberScenario:
I have 4 sites.
Main Site plus 3 subniche specific sites.( these are seperate sites and domains to maximize SEO)
I would like to have a single affiliate program for all sites and hosted on the main site.
I have estore shopping cart installed on the main site as well.
Mainsite.com ( estore and affiliate software here)
Subniche1.com
Subniche2.com
Subniche3.com
This application is focused on a local market strategy.
The largest percentage of affiliate traffic for all subniche sites will be from off line partners. Hoping to achieve this with the affiliate tracking using coupon codes.
Traffic will be generated by off line partners by them distributing physical coupons with their clientelle for one or more of our specific niche related services.
ie Receive $100 of Subniche1 services with this coupon
Go to http://www.subniche1.com use Coupon Code “Azarsalon” (use the specific domain so it is easy to remember vs http://www.mainsite.com/subniche1
So I need to create the cookie, track the sale with the coupon, and credit the referrer with the sale and future services purchased by client.
Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
September 19, 2010 at 2:45 am #24428amin007ParticipantThere is another way to do the remote click tracking other than the redirect. Where does the sale take place though? On the main site or the subniche sites?
September 19, 2010 at 11:27 am #24429pwidderMemberIdeally I would like it to take place on the subniche site, but I can place a button within the subniche site to go to the main site. ( advice and suggestions appreciated)
Can I place it in the subniche site ???
Thanks
September 20, 2010 at 1:23 am #24430amin007ParticipantUsing the main site for the sale is easier to implement but yeah you can place the buttons on the subnich site too.
I have created a small plugin that you can use on your subnich wordpress sites to do the remote click tracking. This way you don’t have to use redirect links… your affiliates send traffic directly to your subnich site and the click will be tracked in the main site where the affiliate platform is installed. I could potentially extend the functionality of this plugin so it will remotely track the sale too. I have never tested it in this configuration but if you are game then we can go for a test run.
September 20, 2010 at 10:45 am #24431pwidderMemberLove to get the plugin for remote tracking and would be more than happy to test the remote sale tracking as well.
Sounds super.
Thank you – I look forward to getting the plugins
September 22, 2010 at 5:20 pm #24432pwidderMemberDid you need an email address to send the plugin to?
September 23, 2010 at 4:58 am #24433amin007ParticipantI sent you an addon plugin to test the remote click and sale tracking from sub-sites. Are you going to be using eStore on the sub-sites to make the sale?
September 23, 2010 at 10:20 am #24434pwidderMemberDid you send the plugin to arodee@eastlink.ca? Could you send it to pwidder@gmail.com?
When you say are you going to use estore on the subsites to make the sale. Do you mean will the estore platform be installed on the subsite?
That would be ideal for me so not having to redirec them to the main site domain but I am taking your lead on this.
I appreciate your help with this
September 23, 2010 at 10:13 pm #24435amin007ParticipantYeah you should be able to use eStore on the sub-sites and make the sale there (that’s the theory… we will see how we go with the testing).
Emails are always sent to the registered email in our customer database. If you want us to send the plugin to a different email address then we need to update your details on our database. We just need a few verification details to go forward… I will send you an email to take care of this.
