I’m setting up WP eStore for the first time. You recommend setting the Email Content Type to Plain Text. The Email body editor inserts HTML tags (<p> and <br />) in the message. These tags appear in the Buyer and Seller messages, at least as they are displayed in Mac mail.
Here’s an example:
<p>Dear __________</p>
<p>Thank you for your purchase! You ordered the following item(s):<br />
February 24, 2021<br />Test Transaction x 1 – $2.00 (USD)<br />
2.00<br />
We will contact you with more information about this program. If you have questions, please email __________<br />
Thank you for supporting the Monterey Public Library!<br />
Monterey Public Library Friends and Foundation</p>What am I missing? Thanks.

And where are you doing that?
The Email body editor inserts HTML tags (<p> and <br />) in the message.
In the eStore settings, does the body text “actually” contain this?
These tags appear in the Buyer and Seller messages, at least as they are displayed in Mac mail.
Have you checked with a web mail client, or any other client (Gmail, outlook, etc.)?
February 27, 2021 at 12:54 pm #82641dholtzmanSpectatorThank you for your reply. Unfortunately, when I try to submit a response, my message simply disappears. Now I am trying a simple message with no links.
February 27, 2021 at 12:56 pm #82642dholtzmanSpectatorOK, the problem was with the content of my response. I’ll reformat the URLs and try again.
Please see the links below for 1) The Plain Text setting and recommendation, and the Buyer Email Body as it appears in the Visual view. 2) The email as it appears in WP-generated text view. (It would be helpful to be able to upload files on this forum.)

[investinmpl.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/eStore-email-settings-2.jpg]I am currently unable to test a different email client, except for iCloud webmail. The p and br tags are displayed there. (I could not get a test email through to Outlook/Hotmail at all.)
February 27, 2021 at 4:45 pm #82645adminKeymasterThis issue is not coming from the eStore plugin. There is another plugin on this site (or an option in a plugin) that’s causing the formatting issue.
Please do the following test:
February 27, 2021 at 5:46 pm #82647dholtzmanSpectatorThank you. In case someone else has the same issue, I have identified the plug-in and setting that was causing the problem. It was Advanced Editor Tools, and the setting was “Keep paragraph tags in the Classic block and the Classic Editor”. With this option unchecked, the tags are not added in the eStore emails.
