    Hi.

I need to use the eStore plugin to charge monthly for certain user roles. After a purchase I need to automatically upgrade the new user to a new WP user role.

How can I best go about this?

I own the eMember plugin but I do NOT want to use this as I am using a different plugin for my clients profiles, etc. but there is no payment option there.

    I greatly appreciate your help!

Well, since you do not want to use eMember; what you will have to do is manually do your post payment processing after the buyer completes their checkout, as though it were a physical product. eStore has no capability for modifying WordPress roles.

Thank you. Is there a setting to receive an email when this post is updated? I must have missed it.

So if I use eMember can I use the default WP roles? An how can I go about this?

    Thanks again.

Click “Add this topic to your favorites,” near the top of this page.

You can assign a WP user role to each eMember level. When a person logs into eMember, or upgrades their account to another level, they will take on the associated WP role:

    Great thanks you again.

So the other plugin creates a login so it appears that I need to use the “Auto Create an eMember Account When a WP User is Created by Another Plugin” setting. Am I correct?

If so, then how do I go about charging for each level? And then when a user upgrades to another level it will automatically upgrade their WP user role?

Thanks again, you’ve been very helpful.

So also by doing this I will have all of the rights and control with eMember also. Correct?

Sounds like the best of both worlds to me.

    Thank you wzp!

So I have membership levels, roles, established and I have enabled the “Auto Create an eMember Account When a WP User is Created by Another Plugin” setting.

    I have the following levels:

    Free profile (role=Contributor) – free

    Premium Profile (role=Author) – $20/month

    Elite Profile (role=Editor) – $27/month

Now how do I go about charging for each level/WP user role? I am installing the eStore plugin now.

Also, when a user upgrades to the next level, how do I make that this happens?

    Thank you again,

    Brent

    Thank you again!

I’m not quite sure of the upgrading. How can I go about testing?

    Thanks,

    Brent
