Hi..I am launching a product this week and I have two levels of affiliates for the product. Some will earn 50% and some will earn 80% depending on their level of involvement on the project. I have set my default commission at 50% but I need to be able to change it to 80% for only some affiliates. Can this be done?
Any other work arounds that can be suggested? Thanks.
April 8, 2013 at 12:55 pm #54915PeterMemberIf you specifically need to, you can set the commission level for each individual affiliate by editing their profile and setting the value in the “Commission Level” field.

April 8, 2013 at 10:31 pm #54917theholisticmamaMemberWondering if I should create two products in estore and set the commission different on each one?
April 8, 2013 at 11:14 pm #54918PeterMemberSo you need two dependencies in order to assign a commission amount – the affiliate ID AND the product ID.
I am not aware of any way to do this with the current functionality. Perhaps let’s wait for admin to see this thread and he might have some other suggestions.

April 9, 2013 at 7:19 pm #54920theholisticmamaMemberDoes the commission set in the estore product page override the commission rate set for the affiliate in affiliate platform?
Let me know if you think this would work.
If I set the commission rates in estore for all products except the one I want two commision levels for….and then change the rate for the individual affiliates in affiliate platform, would that work?

– Yes

– Yas and No (depends on your scenario)
This is how it works:
1) By default the plugin will award the commission based on the rate configured in the affiliate platform general settings.
2) if you specify a commission for an individual affiliate it will override the rate configured in the settings. Meaning that affiliate will get commission based on what is set in his/her profile.
3) if you specify a commission for a particular product, it will override the commission rate configured anywhere else for that product.
April 9, 2013 at 11:56 pm #54922theholisticmamaMemberIs this the only way to get around this? Is there any other option to have two commission levels for one product?
April 10, 2013 at 12:05 am #54923theholisticmamaMemberAccording to what you are saying my idea should work…
Say I have three products
– 2 products everyone earns 20% commission
– 1 product some people earn 50% and some earn 80%
If I set the commission in estore for the first two products at 20% it will override the commission set in affiliate platform.
If I leave the commission in estore blank for product #3 and then change the commission level for each affiliate in affiliate platform they will earn the amount set in there for product #3
Or am I misunderstanding?
April 10, 2013 at 1:26 am #54924adminKeymaster@theholisticmama, Yes that should work.
The commission structure you are after is a little complex so we don’t have a super easy option for this.
