I’m relatively new to website design so apologies if this has been asked before. It’s a case of not knowing what you don’t know so am struggling as to know where to even search.
I am in the process of creating a website that allows Users to enter a competition by selecting a particular prize and answer a question. To achieve this I was proposing creating products (that represent the prize) and adding product variations that the User would complete to answer the question. Both these would then be linked when added to cart. However, to make the website more User friendly, I was hoping to create one variation per letter to clearly denote the length of the answer. For example, if the answer to the competition was “SEASONS”, I would like 7 product variations (one per letter of the answer) to add to the cart with the prize. However, I understand that the number of possible variations is limited and so am unsure how to proceed. The solution does not need to involve product variations but I do know how else to link the prize and answer to each other and to the User. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated!

I may have misunderstood what you are trying to do. If you give me another example of what you are actually selling, I should be able to give you an answer.
March 18, 2018 at 5:49 pm #77550mmeijboomMemberThank you for your prompt reply. The design of the competition means that it’s not possible to provide a predefined list of answers; it needs to possible for the Users to enter the answer. So, if the answer to the competition is “SEASONS” then I’d like to have 7 product variations (or text boxes) where the User enters one letter in each, which is then added to the cart with the prize selection.
Alternatively (if plausible), it would also be acceptable to have a single variation which contains the entire answer but gives the appearance that the answer is split into its 7 separate constituents (i.e one text box that appears as _|_|_|_|_|_|_ using the above example).
Hope that makes sense.
