For the project I’m working on, I need the affiliates to be able to select a level (ie: platinum, gold, silver) when they sign up and pay based on that level. There are no free levels.
In addition to this (and this may not be the correct forum for this question), I need to be able to have these different level affiliates have access to different pricing, depending on the level, for the merchandise being sold in the online store. We are using WP E-Commerce plugin from getshopped. Any way to do this?
Thanks so much for any help with either of these issues.

The way you could achieve something similar is by mixing the affiliate software with a membership plugin (example: WP eMember plugin). The membership plugin can have multiple levels and stuff and charge people to signup for an account. The membership plugin can also show/block content based on a member’s membership level (eg. silver, gold, platinum).
I am going to give you a basic example usage that uses the WP Affiliate Plugin and the eMember plugin together:
What you can do is block the normal signup option of the affiliate plugin and use eMember as the gateway to become an affiliate. eMember has an option that lets you automatically create an affiliate account once someone becomes a member.
Now that you are controlling what this member/affiliate can see using a membership plugin you can place different content which is accessible to different membership levels. For example Page A might have the full price of all the products which is accessible to silver members/affiliates where as Page B might have products with 15% off but this page can only be accessed by gold members.
The above is not exactly what you want so don’t go and buy the WP eMember plugin. I am just trying to give you food for thought.
March 8, 2011 at 6:28 pm #29903sparklogixMemberThis definitely looks like it would work for this project. I went back to double check with the clients and it looks like they may all have the same pricing available to all levels. The reason the affiliates need to pay to register is because they are paying to get the products at a discounted rate (like a wholesale club) but will receive higher commissions (depending on affiliate level) for bringing in new members who make purchases as well. So it sounds like integrating eMember is definitely the solution we need (I hope).
March 8, 2011 at 8:09 pm #29904sparklogixMemberCouple more questions:
1) With eMember, is it possible to allow discounts upon signup depending on the length of time they register for (ex: $40/month; $200/6 months; $350/year)?
2) Is it possible to show the items in the store at the full retail price to non-logged in users, and then once they log in the can see the discounted price for logged in affiliates?
Thanks!

2) Nope. The WP eMember plugin does not have knowledge of the WP eCommerce plugin

March 9, 2011 at 10:32 pm #29907wpCommerceModeratorYou can protect the page from the settings(WP eMember->Membership Level->Manage Content Protection section). Once logged in the affiliate will be able to view the product page.
March 9, 2011 at 11:29 pm #29908sparklogixMemberOkay, so all looks great and I purchased the eMember. Looking back through this thread, and browsing through the documentation, I realized when I couldn’t find options to input payment amounts for each level, that I need to create these payment buttons through PayPal, correct? Is that the only way to accept payment, not through Authorize.net or anything like that?
Thanks again.
