This is not a question, but rather a tip (since I’ve gotten a lot of help in this forum). It is useful for people who want to ‘export’ their entire member list including the membership level and state. This is a huge help for many reasons, including if you want to upload your list to an email system like MailChimp or others that allow you to segment your list.
There is a tutorial in the docs for doing this export through PHPMyAdmin, but some people just are not comfortable with it (and it can be dangerous to mess around PHPMyAdmin if you don’t know what you are doing). So this is for folks who want a safe – and I think faster – way to get this data.
The trick is to use a FireFox addon called Table2Clipboard. (Google Table2Clipboard – it will come up first). After installing Table2Clipboard:
1. First change your emember settings to display the maximum number of rows possible.
2. Next, view the full member list.
3. Right click on the member table and select ‘Copy entire table’ under the Table2Clipboard menu.
4. Go to Excel and right click in cell A1 then choose ‘Paste Special’.
5. Select the option to ‘Paste as Text’ and boom…there is all of your data.
Table2Clipboard is my default work around anytime an export tool on any site doesn’t work the way I want it to and the eMember ‘number of rows to show’ setting allows most folks to do this with just one copy and paste but if your list does get paginated, you can just cut and paste twice, three times, etc.
Hope it helps!
Thank you for sharing this method of member details exporting technique. The tutorial on exporting member details using PHPMyAdmin can be found here:
