Hi,
I read many articles in the forum related to the possibility to have different buttons for “add to cart” and for “Buy now”.
In particular “https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/buy-now-and-add-to-cart-custom-buttons#post-6802”.
But it seems that using Fancy display it doesn’t work, no button changed however the button= URL is valid.
Does it mean that the local button are not always compatible with the different estore shortcode ?
Thank you for your help.

I also tried to use the Add to cart URL in the Add settings combined with the Product URL image in the Product image setting.
Using both URL we get the URL product image on both Add to cart (which is not normal) and on the Buy now button.
I cannot understand.
January 15, 2013 at 11:28 pm #53071adminKeymasterEach product can have a custom button image. You specify it in the “Button Image URL” of the product in question. When you use a shortcode to place a button for this product, it will use the button image URL you specified for that product. More details on this here:
Did you specify a button image URL for a product and that image is not being used for the button?
January 15, 2013 at 11:55 pm #53072Pitou31MemberYes I specified the button image URL and the image (corresponding in my case to the Buy now) is well displayed.
But as soon as you are using this button image URL option, even you specified another specific image URL in the “Add to Cart Button Text or Image” under the “General Image and Page URL Settings” section, the image displayed is always the image corresponding to the button image URL, the image corresponding to the Add to Cart Button Image is never take into account and displayed.
January 16, 2013 at 12:44 am #53073adminKeymasterYou didn’t understand the documentation.
Each product can have ONLY ONE custom button image. That image will be used for all the buttons that you create for that product. So in your case it is working as intended.
The “Add to Cart Button Text or Image” under the general settings is for a different purpose. It is to be used when you don’t want to specify a custom image for each product. As soon as you specify a custom button image in the product, eStore will always use that custom one because you are telling it to do it.
January 16, 2013 at 6:51 am #53074Pitou31MemberThank you for that clarification.
Then my question is the following:
How for the same product, using fancy display, to have an Add to cart button different from the custom image.
For example how to have an Add button image like “Add to cart” and for selling the product an “Buy now” button ?
As you have seen in my first question I tried to use the “button= URL” without success.
I am pretty sure that most people trying to use images button instead of text button are facing my problem but I haven’t yet seen where to find out the solution.
January 16, 2013 at 11:40 pm #53075adminKeymasterYou can’t have two different button images for the same product when using the fancy display template. Why would you want to have an add to cart button and a buy now button for the same product?
Here are your options:
1) You can create two eStore products for this and use one for the add to cart and one for the buy now, then you can customize each eStore product to your liking
2) Use a button image with generic text like “Buy”. That way the same button will work for both “Buy Now” buttons or “Add to Cart” buttons.
3) Design your own fancy display and use eStore to only create the button. When you crete the button, you can specify a button image in the shortcode and tell that button to use that button image. More details here:

I will make tests using the different options and I will let you know.
