When a person affiliate to my site, the affiliate id is the name and surname and these elements appear also in the links of the ads and i don t want this. I would like that the affiliate id is a number (progressive number) : for example. Now links are like this: [http://www.mysite.it………id=paolorossi]
I would like that links are. http://www.mysite.it……..id=1456
Is it possible?
Please help me
Thanks
Gianluca
Affiliate IDs can’t be changed after they are created. Delete the record then create a new one with the same info except this time use “1456” as the affiliate ID.
Thanks for the answer but is it possible to assign automatically a number in the affiliate id instead of a text digited by the user during the affiliate?
I mean: now when a person is registering as an affiliate, this person has to write the id. I think it would be better if this field, this affiliate id, is an automatic field and the system should assign an automatic number different for every affiliate. Can you help me to do this?
Thanks gianluca
That would require a modest amount of custom coding; to maintain and use some kind of auto-incrementing counter. If this is something you are interested in pursuing, please complete our custom coding quote request form, referencing this forum topic, and the appropriate person will contact you:
There is really no reason to force your affiliates to use a numeric number. It is better to let them chose their affiliate ID. What is your reasoning for forcing them to use a numeric number?
