How to change remove item image in the cart?

Hi guys,

Is there a way to specify a different “remove item” image in the cart? The bright red minus sign basically screams attention to itself, calling people to click it if they dare. Which obviously results in sales of fewer items. I’d like this button to be more subtle (different color, smaller), so that that’s not all people see in their carts. Please tell me how I can change that image. I have an alternative image with me, I only need to know how to substitute it for the existing one. I am moderately comfortable using CSS.
