Each PayPal account has a unique merchant ID. You can find it by going the following steps:
1) Login to your PayPal account.
2) Click the “Profile” link at the top of the page.
3) Scroll to the bottom of the page and find “Merchant account ID”
July 7, 2016 at 2:08 pm #31483AjayMemberIs it possible to change the Unsubscribe button?

August 16, 2016 at 8:02 pm #31485createbyvibrationParticipantIn line with this question, say I have a member that I offer a special price to while they are also a private coaching client. They no longer continue as a private coaching client, so the special price is not valid. Can I change their recurring membership price to the new rate or do I have to cancel their membership and then they will have to create a new one to restart at the new rate or can they keep their current membership info but have it changed to the higher rate?
I hope that makes sense. Thanks.
August 16, 2016 at 11:49 pm #31486adminKeymasterPayPal doesn’t let you change an existing subscription price (to make sure people can’t do dodgy stuff). You have to cancel the subscription then tell them to subscribe to the new rate using the appropriate payment button so the customer knows exactly what they will be paying.
August 18, 2016 at 6:25 pm #31487createbyvibrationParticipantOkay. Do I just cancel in the Member info of eMember?
August 18, 2016 at 10:03 pm #31488wzpModerator- You or the user can cancel the subscription from the PayPal account. If you “just cancelled” their membership; it won’t stop PayPal from collecting the monies, according to their existing subscription. You’ll then get complaints and/or chargebacks.
- If the existing subscriptions have a fixed term; the best way is to just let them “run out.” They’d then be forced to renew at the higher rate.
- If the existing subscriptions do not have a fixed term, and if there are a very small number of them; you might want to consider taking the Netflix approach and “grandfather them” at the existing rate; until the subscriptions get cancelled due to attrition.
In the particular case you give, where there is only one member; you can just cancel their subscription, but be mindful of the first point I made.
October 11, 2016 at 2:04 am #31489slstayMemberI am using authorize.net arb. How do unsubscriptions work with that? Is there a similar [wp_eMember_cancel_subscription_link alias=”XYZ”] shortcode?
October 11, 2016 at 5:42 am #31490wpCommerceModerator@slstay, You will need to manually cancel it in the settings (Settings -> Payment Gateway Bundle -> Subscription Settings).
October 11, 2016 at 6:42 pm #31491slstayMemberOk, thanks. Do you know if you have any plans to add a cancel subscription feature (like the one you have for paypal) for authorize.net? It looks like their api may support that. “To cancel a subscription, call ARBCancelSubscription and enter the subscriptionId. If this call is successful, the subscription will no longer exist in our system.” http://developer.authorize.net/api/reference/features/recurring_billing.html
October 27, 2016 at 9:17 pm #31492slstayMemberIf there aren’t currently any plans to add a cancel authorize.net ARB subscription shortcode, do you have the bandwidth for me to hire you for some custom development?
