A site using your estore plugin: Ultimate-Pumpkin-Stencils.com uses a notice when its shopping cart opens. I want to add similar text, but don’t know how to do it. Could you please guide me?
January 25, 2011 at 1:10 pm #28379pagulaMemberI also thought of using the BuyNow button. But then the shortcode does not produce the payPal button (that usually follows the miniature credit card images). Your page asks to use its images but its placement is not given. [Can you have a newbie type of page explaining small things? It feels awkward to ask]
Moreover, I suppose I cannot use both: shopping cart & buynow button on a site. If it is possible, could you explain how to achieve it? thanks
January 25, 2011 at 1:39 pm #28380wpCommerceModeratorPlease create a checkout page with the notice you want to show and use this shortcode after the notice –
[wp_eStore_cart_when_not_empty]
Now go to WP eStore->Settings->General Settings. There is a field named “Checkout Page” where you need to specify the checkout page URL (URL of the page you just created). Also check the “Automatic redirection to checkout page” box. That should do it. Now after adding a product to the cart your customer will be redirected to the checkout page.
Let me know how it goes.
January 26, 2011 at 8:37 pm #28381pagulaMemberToday I had another problem.
I removed the Sandbox state and typed my Merchant ID no. in gateway settings. However, when I tried for a purchase PayPal put up an error message saying “problem with email id” whereas instead of this Merchant ID, when I used my primary email id, it went ahead normally.
When I used the PayPal’s button generation facility, I was able to select to use the “Merchant ID” instead of email id as it was an option there.
How to use your settings and also PayPal settings is my question.
Thanks
January 26, 2011 at 8:40 pm #28382pagulaMemberLong before I did not use your plugins but directly used paypal’s button generation facility for “BuyNow” buttons. If I use my personal email id, it gets reflected on the sales page too, which I don’t want.
January 26, 2011 at 9:35 pm #28383pagulaMemberWhen I used the pdf-stamper-plugin, I used the IPN code and plugin script etc. and able to get the BuyNow button code and it worked flawlessly. Now I don’t know what to ask PayPal about the error.

The PayPal account upgrade is free btw.
Using a merchant ID works fine. I am not sure if there is a restriction for a personal PayPal account. The other thing to check is to make sure you don’t have a mistake in the merchant ID that you entered in the settings (look for trailing space).
