MemberI’m setting up a music download site that includes commercial music. There are several variables depending on the performing media (radio, TV, film etc) as well as length of music clip that affect the price.
Now I’m setting up the recurring price there is only provision for one price. We could just settle on a fix recurring price. But I’d like to verify our scenario will work?
You can see my test samples here: http://www.scrambledegos.com/media-music/
Or will I need to create a different product for each variable combination?
TIA

MemberThank you Peter.
According to the previous thread, recurring works fine and will bill the client according to their original selection. That sounds perfect.
Does this mean I should leave the “Recurring Billing Amount” field blank as it will vary?
The other thing I’ve not seen anywhere is what happens at the renewal time. Is the money just taken automatically or is the client emailed to approve the continuing payment?
I’m just wondering how it works if the client doesn’t want to renew a particular license

TIA

KeymasterYou need to specify your base price in the recurring amount field. If you read the example in the above post then it should be clear. Alternatively, read the variation control documentation for a basic understanding of how price variation work:
The money will be taken out of the account automatically.

MemberThank you for confirming.
I don’t think either of the referred to articles mention the specific value to go in the recurring field – the base figure is the obvious value but just wanted that confirmed to be sure
