We are using WP eStore with the Order Management addon. We refunded (via PayPal) someone’s purchase of one class.
Order Management shows the status of the order as “Refunded” so the PayPal shared the refund info. The Manage Products page did not update the “Sale Count” column. So the available class seats is now incorrect.
What I’d like to understand is the expected behavior when a refund is processed, as well as if there is some action I’m supposed to take to edit the refunded order and change the “Number of Items Purchased” and the “Quantity Purchased” to zero?
Please advise.
Thank you!
The Manage Products page did not update the “Sale Count” column. So the available class seats is now incorrect.
You must manually correct the inventory count; because, as in real-life, there are so many ways the refund process could have ended. For example, when requesting a refund from Amazon; they will sometimes tell you not to return a physical product.
Also, if you enable the “Use Automatic Customer Record Removal” option in the settings menu of eSotre, it will remove the entry from the “Manage Customers” interface when you issue a refund.
Thank you for the responses. So that I don’t update the inventory by trial and error. Would you please tell me exactly what I update.
I could infer this to mean that I go to the Manage Products area, edit the specific product, scroll to the Inventory Control option and increase the field “Available Copies” by one. Or do I change one or more fields on the refunded order in the Order Management section.
Please, just a bit more info on this.
I understand what you are trying to do now. Yes, go to the Manage Products area, edit the specific product, scroll to the Inventory Control option and increase the field “Available Copies” by one to make that refunded quantity available for someone else to buy.
