how do I turn current users into customers

Okay first I may require the eMember plugin and I am prepared to purchase this if necessary.

I’m using eStore with Payment Gateway Bundle Addon to process subscriptions through CCBill for an adult dating online social network.

The site has been in beta for 6 months and we have beta testers who are currently users.

1.) Do I need to make them customers or will they still be able to sign in as usual and nothing needs to change?

2.) Do I need eMember to handle access in conjunction with eStore and Payment Gateway Bundle?

DETAILS:

The site is currently built using INSPIREBOOK theme by rtMedia and uses buddypress for the social aspect. I’m using CCBill since it is an adult dating community. I’d like to keep any profiles (i.e., user profile and eStore customer profiles consolidated, meaning if I have to use one or the other I’d like to know before the site goes live).

What will be the definition of “customer” in your scenario? Do they have to buy something form your site? What will they be buying?
