Tagged: member level, recent posts
I have a site that includes various member levels. One level also has a wordpress account and is assigned the role of author. On my front page I have enabled the display of Recent Posts. Everything is working fine and the content that is restricted is showing the correct “Please log in….”
My question is…. Is there a way to remove a post from the Recent Posts based on member levels? I do not want the restricted posts to show up in the recent list for those members that do not meet the correct level, but I would like them to see all recent posts that do correspond to their member level.
This looks like it might hold my answer, but could anyone verify whether this is what I am looking for? I hesitate to start tweaking code before I confirm that there is no way to do this through the admin.

What you basically want is a recent post widget that shows different posts list based on the user who is logged into the site. WordPress’s recent post widget doesn’t have a way to tell it to not list a post for certain members. So what you would need is to develop your own recent posts widget/shortcode that will show the posts list the way you want.
The information in the following documentation should be helpful for eMember side of things (so you can find out if a user is logged-in or from a particular level etc):
