Help with Permissions Structure (other membership plugins struggle with it)

Hi, I just purchased the eMember + eStore combo. After battling the code of s2member for weeks, at the end of the day it couldn’t handle what I needed.

Will you please help me with the theory of how to set up the scenario of my site with eMember + eStore? I can handle the details and twiddly bits of actually making it happen:

1. Each post needs a buy button to buy the file(s) available in that post. (use the [section] code, right?)

2. Subscription to have access to all of the files from the posts, without creating redundant content. So, ideally, when a paid subscriber views a post, instead of a “Buy Now” button, they’d see an “Access Granted” graphic and the download links.

3. Subscription or Buy Now to have access to various categories of restricted posts, based on the category. (These are online classes with several posts equaling one “class.”) These posts are not included in the all-access subscription in #2, but each category needs to be available for purchase at a discount by someone who has the all-access subscription (#2).

Aside, is the folder with my digital downloads secure from random internet passersby? I understand that after a purchase, the links to the files get obfuscated, but what if someone tries to browse directly to the file path?

The first thing you need to sort out is your permission groups. This will help you see how many membership levels you need.

From your posts I can see that you need one group which will have access to all the content. What other permission groups do you need based on your classes? How many classes do you have? Once we understand your the permission groups we will get a good idea of what sort of structure would be best.
