Tagged: Coupons, trial period
I am not 100% sure if I am posting this in the right place – as I am not sure if this belongs in the eStore forum, or the eMember forum, but I need some rather urgent help on how to fix an issue that I am having.
First off – we just launched our new membership website, and within hours of launch, had our first new member try to register. They were unsuccessful in doing so, and we had to manually add them into the system to register.
Then they logged in, and went to go pay. We had set it up that if someone was buying a subscription that they were entitled to two weeks free off the bat. The person who registered also used a coupon code that we set up that gives them the subscription for $50 off per month. Using that coupon seems to have knocked out the free trial period. how do I go about having both be able to be usable..?
I’m trying to avoid having to switch over to another ecommerce engine entirely, which my partners are threatening to do if we can’t get this resolved…
Thanks,
Mona
It looks like you are using a add to cart button instead of the subscription button. PayPal handles subscription payment differently then normal payments. A subscription can not be added to a cart, also you can not use a coupon with a subscription. Please see the following article as it should explain how to setup a subscription button: http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/how-to-add-a-subscription-button-for-recurring-payment-400
